KELLY A. BOURBON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
1. NAME OF SCHOLARSHIP
Kelly A. Bourbon Memorial Scholarship.
2. TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The Kelly A. Bourbon Scholarship will be administered by MSAD #60' s Central Office.
4. TYPE OF INVESTMENT
The Scholarship funds will be invested in insured Certificates of Deposit.
5. AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship amount awarded annually will be ninety percent of the interest accrued in the previous calendar year. The amount will be rounded up to the nearest $50 (fifty) dollar increment.
6. SELECTION GROUP
The Noble High School Scholarship Committee will select the recipient of the Kelly A. Bourbon Memorial Scholarship. The Bourbon family or the family's designee may participate.
The Noble High School Guidance Department will publicize the Kelly A. Bourbon Scholarship.
8. APPLICATION PROCESS
A letter of application will be required. The applicants, keeping the scholarship criteria in mind, will briefly explain why they are deserving of the Kelly A. Bourbon Scholarship.
A. A Noble High School faculty member may nominate a graduating senior for the Kelly A. Bourbon Scholarship. In the event of a student nomination, the nominating staff member will write the letter of application.
KELLY A. BOURBON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
A. Residency requirement
Noble High School graduating senior
B. Major field of post secondary study
Any state certified or accredited program of study that leads to a Bachelors Degree (four year program), an Associates Degree (two year program), Certificate of Completion, State Certificate, or License to practice a Trade or Vocation.
C. Other criteria:
The following list of criteria is prioritized:
1) Citizenship and Community Service
2) Academic Achievement with a GPA of at least 2.5
3) Activity and/or Athletic Participation, inside and outside of school
Kelly's parents, Charlene A. and William R. Bourbon, will present the first Kelly A. Bourbon Memorial Scholarship to a member of the graduating class of 2006. In subsequent years, the Bourbon Family or a designee may present the award.
To receive funding for the Kelly A. Bourbon Scholarship, the recipient will complete a two step process:
A. The recipient will provide evidence of successful completion of his/her first semester of post secondary education. The Scholarship Recipient will send a transcript of his/her first semester grades to the MSAD #60• Central Office.
B. The recipient must be a student in good standing and enrolled in the same program of study for the second semester. The Scholarship Recipient must provide a letter from the Registrar's Office verifying his/her status and send this letter to the MSAD #60 Central Office.
The Bourbon Family reserves the option to modify, delete, or make additions to the written criteria submitted to MSAD #60 on this date, March 29th, 2006.
